Here is a photo taken the day of the big snow in Comrie, which also was the day I was due to go to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for my op. The photo was given to me last Friday by Morag Aitken, wife of Neil, my knight in shining Land Rover. She thought I'd like a memento to remember the occasion when Neil, one of the only motorists who could actually go anywhere on Sunday, March 12th, drove Don and me to the hospital. Don and I remain extremely grateful that Neil was available and willing to drive us to the hospital and to wait around til I got all settled in to take Don back home again.
Today's temperature is to get up to about 73, which is perhaps 5 degrees cooler than yesterday's. In fact, Don bought us a fan yesterday and took our 2 electric heaters out to the garage for storage. So far today, though, it is cool and overcast, just as the days have been starting out all week. Things are getting quite parched so I was happy to see that the forecast now calls for rain on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
George is hard at work on the roof. He expects he'll be finished today. We're expecting the painters to come back as a second coat needs to be put on the entire outside of the house and they had said they'd be painting the inside bits as well. Yesterday afternoon the missing kitchen worktop was delivered so we're waiting for the joiners to come back to install it and do the last little bit of odds and ends that need doing. We'll be happy when George is finished to get the last of the scaffolding down so we can see just how handsome our new bungalow is with its new coat of paint. We certainly like what we are seeing so far. It's a big change but a great improvement.
