Today's blog is going to be about one of our favorite Comrie Fortnight events, the Fancy Dress (i.e., Costume) Children's Bicycle Parade to be followed by the Children's Pet Show. We won't be able to stay for the pet show as we have to get back for our Skype session with Molly and then a phone call with Don's Buffalo cousins, Ruthellen and Russell, who are calling with questions about their upcoming visit with us in September.
Right now I'll just give you a weather update. Gordon was able to come install our pathway lights. While he was here and the weather was cooler, he connected the proper length of flexipipe to the exhaust pipe for our over-the-hob extractor fan. So that's Gordon's work all finished. As he was packing up to leave, it began to mist a wee bit but that was it. We had no more rain yesterday. By 5 or so, the sun began to shine. We had a beautiful sunny finish to the day and the temperatures were so pleasant we took another after-tea walk before settling down to watch a DVD.
This morning it has rained. We're not sure when it started but I don't think it's been very steady or heavy. The weather report says rain will creep into the area later today but who knows?
Don is out playing his regular Saturday-morning game with Craig and Alex. I am about to put on my raincoat and walk over to Alex's house. His wife, Margaret, is a quilter and has just phoned to say "Throw on a jacket and walk over for a coffee." Sounds good to me.
If it isn't pouring with rain for the Fancy Dress Bicycle Parade, I'll be back later with photos of that event.
