Lynn's Health Update

I am pleased to report that my first chemo treat-ment went very well on Monday. I opted to stay in hospital overnight, just in case. But I had no side-effects at all. The chemo took 5 hours and then I moved to a bed in a ward with 3 other women (the ward had 3 other women--not the bed!).

Yesterday morning our friend Sam Hoggan collected me from The Maggie's Centre to bring me home. On our way, we stopped at Gloagburn Farms for "elevenses" --a late coffee break.

I am feeling some fatigue but I can keep going with no problem, if I'm careful. This morning I'll walk to The Royal to meet the altos for coffee at 10:30. Robbie will give me a lift if I don't feel up to the 10-minute walk.

After a pretty good night's sleep, I am ready to tackle some creative work in the studio. That is, after I've done the ironing. Right now, it's time to put in a load of wash.

The photo above shows one of the two sets of small gnomes we received from Pete and Ruth Salinger last month. Aren't they cheery? Yesterday a parcel arrived from another church friend containing a knitted lap rug for Donald, knitted by Pat Kay, and a knitted shawl for me from the Mindful Knitters, knitted by Kathy Benjamin. These items are colorful and soft and so very much appreciated. Wrapped in these loving fabrics, we feel wrapped in love and caring. Looking at the photo, Kathy Benjamin is on the left. The blue, yellow, and red striped lap rug is on the bottom and my heathery stole/shawl/wrap is above the rug and beneath something solid blue.
