I can post pretty pictures even if I don't have the energy to do the gardening.
I am feeling better. I believe the infection is gone. I'm still achy, especially in my knees and my throat is still terribly sore. On Tuesday Don goes in for his third round of chemo. On Wednesday morning I go in so they can check my hoemaglobin levels and do their 10-day interim assessment of how ready I'll be for my next round of chemo on June 9th. Don continues to do amazingly well. Yesterday, for the third time this weekend, he took the power washer and worked on getting the moss from out between the paving stones around the house. It looks so much better. As he said, it is hard work and a dirty job but when he can see results, then it's worth it. Right now he's out on the golf course just playing around on his own. It is bright and sunny and fairly warm.
About these photos from yesterday: About every tenth morning, when I open the curtains nearest our front door, there on the Welcome Mat is a huge black and white cat having a snooze in the sun with his/her back up against the warm front door. Four cats routinely make the rounds through our garden from morning to night; one is all black and the other three are white and black. The second photo above is of our small crop of bluebells. Remember you can click to enlarge.

The photo on the left is of California poppies, which pop up like weeds around our garden (could that be why they're called poppies?). The orange flowers in the same area are Euphorbia. The second photo is of our chives and a lovely crop of blue flowers, the name of which eludes me. If you know, tell me.

To the left is my little "sun catch" back garden where I like to have morning coffee when it's warm enough and to sit out in the afternoon to read. A lovely Rhodie and an Azalea provide colour. The next photo is of our side garden where a Quince is almost in full bloom. I'm not sure what the pink and blue flowers are but they are most likely some form of weeds. But I like them.

Last night we went to the White Church Community Centre to hear a folk concert by The Old Blind Dogs, one of our favourite folk bands. We've seen them many times but last night's concert was a stand0ut. They were in fine form and had the place rocking all night long. If you see that they'll be at a venue near you, we urge you to go along and enjoy their special brand of Scottish folk music.

I think those blue flowers might be cornflowers. I have some just like them in my garden! (Well, they're not blooming yet...) I bought them thinking that 'cornflower' meant something different, but they're very nice anyhow.
And I just planted some chives - Maybe I'll get some more and put them next to the cornflowers - they look great together!
Love,
Brienne
