Chickened Out

This hasn't turned out to be a very good day for me. I woke at 5 after only having had 5 hours sleep. At 7 I went back to bed for another hour. But I've been dragging around ever since. In fact, as soon as we had had lunch and then our weekly Skype session with Molly, I went back to bed and slept for about an hour and a half. We'll be out at another concert tonight so we must be rested.

The consequence of this tiredness is that I was not up to working in the studio this morning. A new quilt book arrived in today's post so at least I had that to leaf through and drool over.

Yesterday coming home from my dentist's appointment, I stopped at the charity shop and bought a periwinkel cotton pullover, a long denim shirt with flowers down one side, a gorgeous soft black dressy cardigan with jewel detailing, and 2 tomato plants--all for 2 pounds 50. The denim shirt I am adding wadding behind the flowers and then quilting around them for effect. I think when this gets finished it will be quite attractive. The black sweater, which is several sizes too small for me, will make the perfect dressy chemo cap for winter.

Don is feeling quite tired too. He played too many holes this morning so came home tired. He just finished cutting the grass in the front and the back so he is going to be needing his nap now. Perhaps while he does that, I can work on another cockerel or hen.
