I have successfully switched from the old blogger version to the new one which has been beta tested and is now ready for action. Sometime in January, I hope to update the format of my blog. For now, though, I am just trying to learn how to use it and investigate what I can do.
It appears that I have been able to add two photos that I wanted to put in yesterday's blog. The one above is of us with David and Juliet Sutcliffe in our paper hats which fell out of the Christmas crackers. (I'm not talking about an edible cracker, such as a Saltine or Ritz. If you don't know what a cracker is, check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_cracker.) The photo was taken with David's camera on automatic. I couldn't use the file he sent me by e-mail so I had to print the photo and then scan it to get it into my own files. Once I had cropped it and brightened it, it is now ready for prime time. Unfortunately, something got lost in all of those transitions and so if you double-click to enlarge the photo, you will find that it's quite grainy.
Here is a photo of the Hearts and Flowers quilt I made for Amelie. Now some of the information I put in yesterday's blog will make more sense. This photo should enlarge just fine.
I'm very pleased with the way the quilt turned out and I think Simon, Sophie, and Amelie are going to like it too. One night soon we'll go over to the Thompsons' for drinks and the quilt will have its grand opening. Even more exciting, we will get to see the 6-week-old Amelie for the first time.
Don played golf today but I did not have my usual Wednesday morning coffee at the Royal Hotel. For one thing, I think the Royal is closed this week. For another, I think Liz and I are the only two of us "girls" who are still around; both Nan and Robbie are away visiting with children and grandchildren. Things are not going to get back to normal around here until after January 1st or 2nd. Why, I didn't know what day it was until almost 11! Don did, though. He went out and played with the Tuesday Morning Comrie Seniors. Yes, the Tuesday morning group met on Wednesday. No wonder I was confused!
