Our 27th Anniversary

Yesterday was our 27th wedding anniversary. Here is a photo taken by a guest as we walked down the aisle at the First Unitarian Society of Albany, NY, on December 28, 1979. We were in our late 30s and had just moved from Albany to Reston, Virginia. In some ways, it seems so long ago. In other ways, it hardly seems possible that 27 years have gone by, although you can tell that, over the years, I have gained weight, whereas Don has lost hair.

We celebrated by taking ourselves to Comrie's restaurant, The Deil's Cauldron, for dinner. It was delicious. Don had breast of duck with damson sauce and I had breast of hen pheasant filled with sage and chestnut stuffing. Some friends were in the dining room or at the bar while we were there, so we chatted with them which added to the festive atmosphere. Over a nice bottle of red, we toasted to each other and our future.
