I am hoping that the default colour for my type will be white as I've selected a black background. I'll soon find out, won't I?
We started out with a hearty bowl of porridge filled with apple, raisins, and nuts. Don is about to go do some grocery shopping and I will return to the studio to get more of my fabrics rearranged and regrouped. Yesterday in the late afternoon I moved all of the longer lengths of fabric into the largest of the new cupboards. The standing shelving unit is a mess, though, with fabrics higgeldy-piggeldy all jumbled together, spilling out, looking a right mess. I am at least seeing some progress. Just like a good Scots "wee wifey" I am getting all of this tidying-up done for the new year.
Tomorrow we will take down all of our Christmas decorations and put them away for another year. The living tree will go back out by the back door (outside the utility room) where it looks very happy for the rest of the year.
Why so soon, you ask? On Sunday morning we leave for an 8-day trip to Ireland--our first. We are very excited about seeing Ireland, or at least part of it. We'll be in the town of Dingle on the Dingle Peninsula staying with friends in a 2-bedroom self-catering cottage behind John Benny Moriarty's pub: http://www.johnbennyspub.com/pub.html During the day we will take rides and walks to see the abundance of ancient mounds, stone formations, and beautiful scenery. The Ring of Kerry is not far away, so we will make that one of our excursions. In the evenings, we'll be sitting in the pub listening to traditional Irish music played by John Binny, who is an accordian player, and sung by his wife, and who knows who else? It is said that many touring musicians take this particular week off to be at home. Some may drop by for a session. And then there's the Guinness. The word is that it tastes better in Ireland than anywhere else. We'll let you know.
