Santa and Mrs Claus Make an Appearance a Tad Early

The photos above were taken at the Friends of Cognac Kristingle Party last night. We came into the hall singing "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" and then handed out gifts to all the "boys and girls" at the party. As you can see, Donald made a wonderful Santa although he had trouble keeping his beard on. It was a jolly time.

We had a perhaps too great a time as we are both a bit "fragile" this morning. Don somehow managed to stumble out to play golf (Gordon picked him up--in the car, I mean) while I stayed in the bed as long as possible as I have a 2 pm rehearsal and then a 7:30 chorus concert tonight.

Just so you know we didn't go through the whole party in costume (in fact, it is usually a surprise for most guests as to who has been roped into playing Santa and Mrs Claus), here is a photo of me in my fancy party clothes before we left the house.

We walked out to find that it was snowing. Fortunately, we had a bus to take all the Comrie folks to the hall in Fowlis Wester on the other side of Crieff. It snowed on us the whole way and the driver said the road was getting a bit slushy. She did a great job, though, and got us there safe and sound. It was quite lovely, however, to see the snow on the hillside, stone fences, and houses as we drove up the hill to the church hall. Thankfully, the snow changed to rain during the party and it was a much easier drive home.
