I'm pleased to tell you that the biopsy report on my lymph node as well as on the tissue removed with the melanoma came back clean. I only have to see the surgeon again in 2 months so he can check to see how well the area is healing (so far, he's very pleased) and I must see the dermatology specialist in a little over 2 months for my 3-month check-up from the date of diagnosis. Thank you for all your healing thoughts, good wishes, prayers, metas, and so forth. Don and I remained positive all the way through but it's always wonderful to get absolute positive news.
I'm also pleased to say that lots of work got done on our renovations today. Ally, the joiner, has put cladding on both the utility room and the studio extension. You can see it in the photo above, which also shows Gordon, our sparky (electrician) leaving after a full day's work putting in wiring. He will be back tomorrow morning to complete the job. Joiners Neil and Scott put up the roof trusses for the sitting room extension and have put the "skin" on them along with some of the supports for the roofing work to be done.
The tilers (roofers) are still waiting for the special-sized tiles they ordered last week, that's why you can see some unfinished roof over the studio extension. We're hoping they'll be back tomorrow to start work on the roof over the sitting room extension.
Things are starting to shape up nicely though, aren't they? Of course the cladding will get stained to match the rest of the house, but that's probably one of the last things they'll do.
Meanwhile, it began raining lightly yesterday and rained all day today so the glaur is back, that icky sticky mud that clings to shoes and that is so slick that, if you're not careful, you can slip on. (Now there's a pretty thought!) My freshly washed kitchen floor mats are filthy again and there's evidence of tracking into the dining area. Ah well, we've known we're going to have to have the carpets steamed clean when it's all over anyway.
We did come upon a slight snag this afternoon when Gordon measured and realized that one of the cupboard units for the utility room wasn't going to fit in the space allotted (because of a window). We're trying to trace down who made the mistake and figure out how to rectify it. In other words, situation normal....
Anyway, we are so pleased at the good news we got this morning that we aren't in a swither about this--yet.
