Flowers from a Lovely Lady

On Wednesday afternoon, Don had a visitor. Alice Gray is a member of the Strathearn Music Committee and she dropped by with some publicity and programme material for an upcoming concert. She brought with her the most exquisite arrangement of flowers! They are small orange Gerbera Daisies spiked with deep purple flowers. In the centre of each Gerbera Daisy, a purple pearl pin has been inserted. Wrapped around the tops of the flower stems is a purple sheath with gold studs in it. All is in a tall, square glass vase. Exquisite!

Yesterday was a much better day for me. I didn't manage to do anything in the studio but I had a great time poring through my quilting books and magazines and planning small projects to experiment with.
At 10, the community nurse came to draw my pre-chemo bloods. Then Nan came by at 10:30 and did some weeding in our back garden. Honestly! What can you say about a friend like that?

Then she and I drove to the Royal Hotel to meet Liz for coffee (Robbie is away). We had a good natter for about an hour and lots of laughs. Afterward, Nan and I walked across the road to the Senses Spa where we made appointments for beautification. On Saturday I'll get a pedicure, my eyebrows tinted, and have my left ear re-pierced.
In the afternoon, Margaret Coll came for a visit bringing some chocolate squares which had been spread on top with apricot jam and then lightly iced with chocolate. She also brought a container of vegetable-beef soup from her husband, Alex, the superior soup-maker. We look forward to having that for lunch today. Margaret and I had a lot of laughs and when she left I was feeling much more energetic and cheerful.
