Living in a World of White

We bought these lillies when we went to Tescos in Dunblane last Thursday. None were open at the time. Here it is over a week later and they still haven't all opened yet. Aren't they lovely? They have a lovely delicate scent which wafts gently through the room.

We had snow off and on most of the day yesterday although never really heavy. We both spent some time just sitting by the fire, reading and listening to music by Elgar. It began snowing last night, though, and must have snowed on and off, heavy at times. When we got up this morning, we had about 2 inches on everything. It looks really beautiful and yet the roads and sidewalks have been nicely cleared and gritted. It snowed a bit this morning for a while but seems to be finished for now. The temperature must be rising too because there is a constant drip-drip from the snow on trees, leaves, and eaves.

Obviously even Don didn't venture out to play golf today. Instead he spent all morning at the computer working on his January 22nd programme for the St. Fillans Music Circle. I spent the morning in the studio doing some tidying up, sorting through and reshelving some of my fabrics, and making the last set of bookmarks for a while.

Tonight we go to Ros Schifner's for a drinks and nibbles party at 6:30. We're looking forward to getting out. I suppose we'll walk as it's only about 15 minutes away. We'll see what the temperature is tonight. If it's dropped and the pavement is icy, we'll drive.
