Going to the Festival




We are off this afternoon for 2 evening concerts at the end of the Edin-burgh Festival. Tonight's concert at the Usher Hall features the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra playing Beethoven, Debussy, and Shostakovich. Tomorrow evening we'll enjoy the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra under Michael Tilson-Thomas playing Copland, Seeger, Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky and John Adams, whose work we have only come to know and appreciate since we have been in Scotland. This is the contemporary American composer who wrote the opera Nixon in China.

We will be back in Comrie on Thursday afternoon. For now, here are photos Don took on Sunday. The pictures at the top are from Glen Quaich and a close-up of blooming heather. Below are some shots of farmland closer to home which he calls Perthshire Idyll.
