This morning I took a walk with Jean Anderson. We are having another week of glorious weather--dry, warm, and sunny under blue skies, as you can see in these photos. We started out walking along the River Ruchill and then came out to walk along a harvested barley field. Then we crossed the road, walked across another harvested field, and back down Dalginross to Jean's house. It was an hour of chat about all sorts of topics enjoying the fresh air and beautiful scenery that surrounds us here in Comrie.
Don just got back from a morning of running errands: picking up eggs at the Heather Centre, going to Crieff to pick up a few groceries and some fish, dropping by the printers on Friends of Cognac businss, stopping at the drycleaners, and distributing some Strathearn Music flyers. It is a day when he had no scheduled golf game, but my guess is he'll be out there on his own this afternoon as it's too nice a day to stay in.
I, on the other hand, will be making another batch of plum butter, having harvested another 12.5 lbs of fruit. I was such a social butterfly yesterday that I didn't get much more done besides harvesting, washing, and then sorting the plums. In the morning I had the usual 11 am coffee date at The Royal with Nan and Robbie (Liz is in Australia for a family wedding). Then in the afternoon Catherine Brown and I went to the Rapha Centre 7 miles outside of Comrie for tea. She had never been to the Centre before and so this was the perfect excuse. The Centre is, in part, an alternative medicine centre but it also has a deli and a tearoom where they serve delicious soups, interesting and wholesome sandwiches, and yummy home-baking. Catherine and I browsed through the deli and picked up a few items and then sat down to enjoy tea, carrot cake, and a long chat. It was a lovely long afternoon of liesure.
